 studio

My studio is located at The Tannery Arts Center,
an art complex with 100 living studios residences,  28 working studios, a coffee shop and a Theater.
There I assemble my mixed media pieces and
sell my work: ceramics, mixed media and textiles.

I was always engaged in creative activities.
In 1992, I had my first encounter with clay
in Charlottesville, VA and I was hooked!
I started wheel throwing and then switched to
hand-building: coiling, slabbing, and pinching; most recently working in the realm of mixed media.

For the past few years, I have been focusing on the slab technique. Usually, I press the clay using different patterns, revealing a unique design after the piece is fired-glazed. I like to experiment with other materials by embedding glass or strong metal with the clay body before the firing, or incorporating other media such as wood, feathers, beads or shells to the final piece.
My artwork is mainly functional but can also
be purely decorative.
